Trolley Square Barbers sees boom in demand for men’s grooming
Team expanding to include two new barbers to keep up with demand

Salt Lake City, UT – December 25, 2020 – Offices are closed. Workplace meetings are being held on Zoom. Sharp three-piece suits have given way to a shirt, tie and pajama pants. 2020 has led to several changes in the workplace. One thing that hasn’t changed is men’s desire for a stylish haircut and a smooth shave that makes them look and feel ready to take on anything the world can throw at them. Trolley Square Barbers, a classic Salt Lake City barbershop, specializing in traditional, timeless barbering and grooming, has seen such steady interest from clients this year that the shop has brought on two new barbers.

“It’s a year where a lot of things have become more casual,” explains Rich Kletting, manager of Trolley Square Barbers. “Dress, office settings, meetings, they’ve all become less formal. When people feel insecure or unsure about the world, it can spark a desire to do something that gives them a shot of confidence. Something that makes them look and feel good. We haven’t seen a slowdown in the number of appointments for haircuts, if anything, we’ve seen men step up their grooming habits. They’re adding a traditional hot shave or a shoeshine to their usual cut. They’re little things, but when you look and feel good, it can be a huge boon to your mental health.”

Luna Nielson, one of the two barbers to come on board with Trolley Square Barbers this year, is Utah native, having grown up in the Provo-Orem area. Nielson’s style is traditional with a flair for adding just the right hint of modern edginess. Nielson has several years of experience, having worked at three other grooming establishments and is commitment to the craft of barbering. She frequently takes steps to learn new skills which she uses to wow her loyal clients.

Rick Avalos attended one of the country’s top traditional barbering schools, The Barber School. Avalos’s style is traditional with a modern flourish. While building his client base and gaining experience at two Salt Lake City barbershops, Avalos continued his committed to learning advanced barbering and grooming skills. His clients love his insistence on excellent customer service and his sharp haircuts designed to show off their best features.
